News from the Course Curator
Murray Downs Golf Course News - Quarterly Issue 2 - 2009.
Our golf course has been in great condition, and I would like to take the opprotunity to thank all my staff for an exceptional effort while we wait for the drought to end.
We are planting between 700 and 1000 trees from June to September.
We will be continuing with our cart path expansion, working on the 3rd tee, 9th green, 13th tee, 15th green and 18th green.
Our bunkers will be given some TLC as well with a sand sifting programme that will result in improved consistancy in our bunkers. The entire sifting programme will take up to 2 years.
Thankyou to all our members for their care of the course, please remember to repair pitch marks and treat the course with the respect it deserves.

Raking bunkers after use!
Golfers, please remember to always rake the bunkers after use. Make sure you return the rake to the bunker with it laying parrallel to the direction of play, this will reduce the chance of other competitors balls jamming against the rake.
See picture (e) for illustration of correction rake position.
